Talks on hotel deal 'excellent'
City optimistic despite not meeting deadline

"Fort Wayne will not meet its self-imposed deadline to complete a hotel contract for Harrison Square, but city officials said negotiations on the project’s lynchpin component are still going smoothly."

"While not offering a new timeline, Brody said the goal is still to have the projects completed in 2009.

Brody added that a possible lawsuit against the project played no part in missing the deadline. Two residents who filed written protests against the project have until 4:30 p.m. today to file a lawsuit against Harrison Square."
