The discussion tonight and the vote on September 25 will be the last chance to derail this boondoggle short of asking the courts to speak to the illegalities that have been involved. I ask that all taxpaying Fort Wayne citizens who agree that moving our ballpark to downtown is an unnecessary, unwise, and wasteful use of property tax dollars (I don't care what supporters say -TIF revenues ARE PROPERTY TAXES)let our city council members know by writing, calling, FAXing, e-mailing your councilman plus the three "at-large" members. To get addresses, phone numbers and e-mail addresses go to www.cityoffortwayne.org , click on city council on the main menu bar on the left, then click on your councilman & the three "at-large" members - or just send it to the council office via mail or FAX to the councilman's attention.
If we fail to convince at least two more councilmen to oppose this request, we will be announcing what steps we will be taking in court - and we may need your help in financing this. John B. Kalb
