DFWB Poll Results

What is keeping you from moving downtown right now?

12 (31%) Waiting for more development
10 (26%) Type of housing desired not available
8 (21%) Low housing supply/difficult to find a place
8 (21%) Other
0 (0%) Parking concerns

Even with the unreliability of online polls and the possibility of cookie-clearing manipulation, you'd think at least one person would vote for parking concerns considering how much complaining goes on whenever the topic is brought up.

The top two choices were from those waiting for more development and those that said the type of housing they desired is not available.

Does Harrison Square meet these criteria or are you waiting for more development beyond Harrison Square and/or a different type of housing than what Harrison Square will provide?

Feel free to discuss these and any other items related to the poll.

Harrison Square housing is too expensive. There needs to be some condo's in downtown available in the 75 - 150K range

I agree that downtown needs housing between 75k and 150k. I know many people interested in living downtown that either can't find a Midtowne condo right now or simply won't afford the HS condos.

This type of housing would hopefully occur from the renovation of existing buildings such as those along Columbia St or along Calhoun near Dash-In and Pint&Slice.

I voted for "Midtowne Crossing area" in the poll not because of the hopes of living in the Midtowne complex in particular but for the hope of one day living above small restaurants and retail in this downtown core.

I live downtown right now but would like more options that are affordable, unlike HS. Midtowne is okay, but it's pretty bland, albeit very affordable for me. 75-125k seems about right for a condo in downtown fort wayne right now.
