Six new houses are first of 350 in Renaissance

The tour offers the public the chance to view six new homes along the 2400 block of John Street. Those homes are the first of 350 planned as part of an urban revitalization by the city of Fort Wayne, a private developer and local builders.

Some people arrived an hour early for the tour, according to Rachel Blakeman, marketing director for Lancia Homes.
“The feedback we’ve heard has been fantastic. I think people have been pleasantly surprised at what they’ve seen,” Blakeman said.

Kelly Lundberg, grant administrator for the city, said project participants hope to lure people back to a more urban lifestyle.
“This means we’re reinvesting in our core neighborhoods,” Lundberg said.
Chris Palladino, of Mansur Real Estate Services Inc., touted the neighborhood’s proximity to downtown businesses and entertainment.
