This is fantastic. I would love to see high speed rail come through Fort Wayne. That would definitely be an economic boost.
I'd like it if low speed rail came through Fort Wayne. High speed rail would be great though.
I'd settle for Amtrak service, departing Baker street station, on a regular reliable schedule.
icing on the cake would be riding a "Hoosier Orient express"- steam excursion/casino train- 765, and some nice luxury Pullman cars.
or a direct interurban commuter line between INDY, and Fort Wayne;
or rail service to all the states Casinos.
Or we can be a midwest rust belt backwater, hoping for Harvester, Manufacturing, etc. to miraculously return.
oh well, a man can wish, cant he?
High Speed rail would be awesome. If FW could get high speed rail routes to Chicago, Indy, Detroit, Cincy, etc, I'd be in heaven. Would save me thousands of miles driving. Gas prices aren't ever going to go down again too.
