DFWB On The Road: Cincinnati

Today was the last regular season game for National League Central Division Champion Chicago Cubs, played at Cincinnati. Alfonso Soriano hit a home run on the second pitch of the game, but the Cubs eventually fell to the Reds 8 to 4 in a game that, truthfully, doesn't really count for much.

We now await the Cubs' postseason run and look forward to the possibility of celebrating The Big Win, only 99 years after the Cubs last won the World Series.

DFWB On The Road: New York City 2

Today in NYC we went on a tour of Yankee stadium and then to the taping of the Conan O'Brien Show. William Shatner was the guest and it was great to see the "In The Year 2000" bit right in front of us. Afterwards we headed out to Shea Stadium for a Mets vs Cubs game. The game was tied going into the 9th when things went from bad to Wuertz with bases loaded and Carlos Delgado up to bat. The count was full and... the winning run was walked in. It was a letdown of an ending, but the whole game was well played.

DFWB On The Road: Philadelphia

The Cubs vs Phillies game today was a wild one. The Cubs were down until the top of the 7th when they tied up the game with some help from a 3-run pinch hit home run by Matt Murton. As soon as the score was equalled, rain started coming down in sheets and the game was delayed by rain. After singing the 7th inning stretch, the Phillies came back and won the game 11 to 7. Overall it was a whacky and exciting game, full of offense and great plays. We also visited some historical sites in downtown Philly and we are now in New York City.

DFWB On The Road: Washington DC

Yesterday was spent in our nation's capital, touring the historic and significant sites that we could make it to and catching a great Nationals vs Marlins game. The Nationals blanked the Marlins 6-0 on 15 hits and had a no-hitter going through 5 innings.

DFWB On The Road: Baltimore

Great game tonight between the Orioles and the Devil Rays. The Orioles won 11 to 6, securing a series sweep over the Devil Rays.

There were three home runs in the game, 1 robbed home run, 1 player ejection, and 1 overly-inebriated fan that ran onto the field during the ejection.

Time to get some sleep - Washington D.C. tomorrow
