Castle Update

Fate of Memorial Stadium
http://www.fortwayne.com/mld/journalgazette/news/editorial/17060149.htm

From the article:

"Earlier this year, the city, county and Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne hired Minnesota-based CSL International to research potential reuse opportunities for the existing baseball stadium. The preliminary results from the $45,000 study are in and do not look promising for finding a financially reasonable use for the stadium. City leaders say they hope to have the final results from the study to share with the Fort Wayne City Council by April 17, the date set for the council to discuss the first Harrison Square-related legislation."

"The fate of Memorial Stadium should not determine the fate of Harrison Square. Market Square Arena was home to the Indiana Pacers and the site of Elvis Presley’s final concert on June 26, 1977. But Indianapolis tore down the 26-year-old arena when Conseco Fieldhouse was built. Indianapolis was able to find a better use for the site. It’s just as likely that Fort Wayne and Allen County leaders will find a use for the land that’s as good as a stadium, perhaps even a better one, if it becomes apparent there is not a good use for the stadium."

Give the people what they want, right?

We could always use a good gun and knife show. Or perhaps a flea market. Oh wait, then what would we use the Coliseum for?
