What does Kelty have to hide?
If he has nothing to hide, then please release who paid for his poll?
Its very simple. Why doesnt Kelty want people to know who is supporting him? In all of the time you spent writing your op-ed piece, you could have just issued a one sentence press release that said "John Doe, paid for the poll"
Is this the sort of Hide the Ball administration we should expect from Kelty? Is Kelty so concerned about the supporter, that he hired 4 attorneys to help research how not to disclose.

Very interesting. It makes me wonder what these attorneys researched. Kelty was not given a "communication relating to the outcome of a public question." He was given tangible survey results which, perhaps, contained some questions related to a public question. He was then given the discretion and first right to disseminate that information as he saw fit.
By the way, I wonder how asking someone whether he is a born-again, evangelical or fundamentalist Christian is a political question...
Andy Downs brought up a great point in the Journal Gazette. Do you think Mr. Kelty would have released the poll data to everyone if it would have shown him behind? or showed opposition less than 50% on H. Square? The answer is no. They would have sat on the poll data and nobody would have known anything about it.

I agree Chris - I've wondered the same thing lately.
Good question Barranda regarding the born-again, evangelical, fundamental, Christian question that was on the poll released by Kelty. It has been amazing for me to witness the power and influence this particular group of people have had in the political areana over the last decade. It seems as if the majority of politicians are jumping on this band wagon. What should it matter what particular religious faith, or lack there of, a person subscribes to ?
Interesting accuasations about hiding the ball given the timing of the release of the MOU.

What is Kelty hiding?
If I admit Kelty is hiding something, will you admit the City is hiding something? Or is it only bad when Kelty does it?
Kelty has said that the person(s) from whom he recieved the poll asked that they not be identified, and he is honoring that request. What if any basis does anyone have to claim that Kelty is lying?

I'm not sure anyone said Kelty is lying...at least I'm not. My point is that he was given an in kind benefit; i.e. the survey results and the right of dissemination. He's walking a very fine line if he chooses not to disclose the contribution.
Even more alarming is the FACT that he accepted the contribution, promised to not disclose the source and distributed the results to the press BEFORE researching whether he could keep his promise; i.e. whether he had to divulge the source.
I'm not saying he's lying at all. He was reckless. I'd venture to guess that he'd probably agree with me.
