Harrison Square site free of asbestos
Dangerous fiber has been removed and disposed of, city says
Link
"Gary Lyman, the city’s brownfield manager, said most of the homes being demolished for the project had asbestos in them, but it was removed and disposed of according to law in landfills."
"To search homes for asbestos can take anywhere from a few hours to a whole day, Lyman said, and anything fibrous gets tested to see if it needs to be removed. He said it took a couple of weeks for the Harrison Square properties to be searched."
"Indiana Department of Environmental Management periodically checks on the process to make sure all the rules are followed. Lyman said the department’s last visit was two weeks ago. The site was found to be asbestos-free and safe."

John,
Here is your answer to the asbestos question. Of course the City was going to do the right thing here. Asbestos is not something that you want to screw around with.
I for one don't really care what properties it was in as long as it was removed accordingly. Let's not try to micro-manage.
