From the press release:

"Calhoun St. Soups, Salads & Spirits, located at 1915 South Calhoun Street at the former location of Bercot Children’s Wear, will open for business at 10:00 am Monday, November 26, 2007. The hours of operation will be 10:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday through Thursday, and 10:00 am to Midnight Friday and Saturday. (After 9:00 pm, the restaurant will be only 21 and over). The restaurant will be closed on Sundays. The menu will feature homemade soups, salads and sandwiches during the day with daily specials, and a menu of sandwiches and appetizers in the evening. A take-out menu is also available and the restaurant has a three-way liquor license.

The restaurant is appealing to the downtown work population by promising to get guests in and out in the hour they have for lunch. The cost of items will also appeal to the downtown work population with prices ranging from $3.50 for a ½ salad to $5.99 for a Southwest Chicken Wrap. The restaurant features an outdoor patio with seating, wi-fi and ample parking at two lots on Masterson and on-street parking along Calhoun. Banquet space and catering is also available.

The restaurant is the creation of Donna Kessler. While the restaurant is her first food venture, she has successfully run several businesses in the past. Donna is passionate about cooking and has studied culinary arts at Ivy Tech."
