Lugar vote helps get $3.34M for projects in city
Federal funds were part of an appropriations bill

"Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind., voted to secure $3.34 million for projects in Fort Wayne. The funding was approved as a part of the FY 2008 Omnibus Appropriations bill that passed in the Senate on Tuesday night by a vote of 76-17."

"$1.42 million for the replacement of the Clinton Street Bridge. A nonfederal match of 20 percent is required. In July 2006 city officials unveiled two prototypes for a new bridge that would serve as a signature gateway through Headwaters Park into downtown."
