Embassy walkway catalyst for growth

"Great care and thoughtfulness were taken during negotiations with the city of Fort Wayne to follow the Embassy Theatre Foundation's mission to preserve and operate this historic facility. Thanks to the city and Goldstine Foundation funding, this project places the Embassy in an excellent position to not only be integrated into the new downtown project but also to develop the five floors of the Indiana Hotel that have stood empty for more than 30 years.

While the walkway is a major requirement of the hotel developer, it also is a catalyst for growth at the Embassy. The walkway is now just one piece of the construction that will take place in the Embassy in the next few years"

"There is much to do in the next few years at the Embassy. We intend to communicate with and involve the community as much as possible in the dreaming, planning and building of the walkway and development of the upper floors. The Embassy will continue to be a key component in downtown revitalization.

Kelly Updike,
executive director, Embassy Theatre"
