  • States that focus should be on local universities and tries to make a connection between those places of learning and downtown

"Is there a possibility of hosting other events at the stadium? Probably not."

What is this based on? I have read about a number of non-baseball events that could take place downtown. How about outdoor conventions that are an extension of the Grand Wayne center?

"Older buildings could be converted into affordable housing. Builders and developers could take on a reinvention of the Parade of Homes by renovating existing homes in the downtown, East Central and Lakeside neighborhoods. Using existing buildings to house bookstores, vintage-clothing shops and a variety of small restaurants serving ethnic or regional favorites could provide much-needed ambience."

The opportunity for all of these things to occur has been here for many years. When will a stagnant downtown change? It is not happening on its own.
