"Making a splash : Many critics of the downtown stadium proposal have their own views on what Fort Wayne needs, and a water park is frequently suggested. But the prospects for the year-round tourist attractions grow dimmer as those developments are announced elsewhere around the state. The latest is Paradise Bay, an 80,000-square-foot indoor water park in Fishers, north of Indianapolis. It includes a 236-room Sheraton Hotel. Water parks featuring giant slides and wave pools are becoming major family attractions in the Midwest, where visitors are searching for a break from snow and ice. If Fort Wayne is to ride their wave in popularity, it needs to happen quickly."
