I find the administration's line of "only $2 Million of private investment in downtown over the last 10 years" to be misleading at best.
Clearly several businesses have moved into buildings downtown and these buildings had to be renovated, furnished, etc - that's investment.
A more accurate characterization would be that only $2 Million in new private infrastructure has been invested.
Semantics I guess but it's still an important distinction to make. The current description makes it sound like nobody is moving any new business into downtown whatsoever and that simply isn't true...
You are so right Jeff, I worked downtown for a couple years and while I was there, I purchased a stapler for my desk and a couple pens. The FAQ does not account for any of these type of items.
