"Going green was probably not an issue when the Alexander T. Rankin House was built on Lafayette Street in the 1840s.

But as the effort to be more environmentally friendly is finding its way into many communities, ARCH Inc. has joined in by installing a geothermal heating and cooling system in one of Fort Wayne’s oldest homes being restored.

The organization opened up the house at 818 Lafayette St. on Saturday to give the public an opportunity to see the more than 150-year-old home in one of its many stages of restoration and to hear about the geothermal system recently completed."
