It's chili outside: Soup's on at train station

"It’s a safe bet that the Fort Wayne Derby Girls make a mean soup. And that former Fire Chief Tim Davie knows how to handle four-alarm chili.

If you can stand the heat, sample their efforts during the “Flavor of Fall,” when they and other local celebrities and restaurants prepare their favorite chili, chowder, gumbo or soup.

This fundraiser for the Brenda Hanchar Foundation runs from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 8 at Baker Street Train Station, 221 W. Baker St.

Admission is free, although donations are accepted. You can also vote for the best by tipping at your favorite dish’s station.

Participating restaurants include Aboite Grill, Chappell’s, Hall’s, Opus 24, Sycamore Hills Country Club and the Summit Club."
