Project's Projected Pace

Timeline solidified as project kicks off

"Thursday’s groundbreaking officially kicked off construction of the $125 million public-private project, although prep work started months ago.

The day after the event, city officials were taking bids for the parking garage, the first piece to be constructed. Work on the city-owned $30 million baseball stadium will begin this winter with the hopes of being ready for opening day 2009. The project, which includes a Courtyard by Marriott with garage, condominium/retail building, still faces several deadlines before becoming a reality."
